For Murs 3:16 and Guerilla Union, PAID DUES means supporting underground Hip Hop artists who deliver conscious lyrics, stinging political commentary and quality DJ performances. The artists in the 2008 PAID DUES Festival Series have paid their dues, are you down to pay yours?

We want to know: what does PAID DUES mean to you and how willing are you to pay your dues, just like the artists?

Here is your chance to win the ultimate PAID DUES experience!!!

The winner, hand picked by MURS 3:16, will win a trip for two to the closing PAID DUES show in Berkeley to see De La Soul, Blackalicious, Little Brother and more! Submission deadline is Friday, June 6th at 12 noon PST. No more submissions will be accepted after this time/date.
Eligibility: All Entrants must be 18 years of age as of date of entry and must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. Employees of Guerilla Union and Paid Dues, their parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, and agents and the immediate family (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents) of each such employees, and all those with whom such employees are domiciled, are NOT eligible. All federal, provincial, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
You must be able to travel for dates of show in order to win prize package.

Keep the Pay Your Dues video-essay posted on your Myspace page as well as Paid Dues as your Myspace theme until the winner has been announced. Complete the Pay Your Dues Check-list with as many screen-shots as you can get.

All submissions will be reviewed for: customized Myspace pages, number of screen-shots and creativity of the Pay Your Dues video-essays. Murs 3:16 will personally choose one contestant with the most creative video-essay and the most screen-shots as the grand-prize winner. ALL DECISIONS with regard to the awarding of the prizes, the selection of the winner and the interpretation of these rules shall be final. Each contestant, by virtue of entering the contest, agrees to accept all such decisions and agrees to abide by all rules and regulations set forth.

The grand-prize winner will be announced on www.myspace.com/paidduesfestival on Monday, June 9th at 5pm PST. His/her video-essay will be posted on the Paid Dues Myspace page. GU staff will contact the winner by phone and email. Travel and Hotel accommodations for two will be provided. However, ground transportation to and from the airport, hotel and venue will not be provided. Winner will pick up tickets and credentials at the Will Call Box Office day of the show. The Prize-Package will be shipped to the winner's home address prior to the show.

Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of Sponsor(s) and none will be returned. In the event of a dispute, entries made by Internet will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The "authorized account holder" is deemed the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. A potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor(s) with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right in [its/their] sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
